Reg Gardner
Artist Biography
Reg Gardner was born in 1948 in Prestwich, Manchester. He won his first art competition, in 1960, with the Manchester Evening News and Chronicle. In 1962 he won a Scholarship to the Manchester High School of Art. He continued to study art and to teach himself by observing the works of past masters in public galleries. Reg's first exhibition was held at the Colin Jellicoe Gallery in Manchester in 1969 and exhibited there many times over the next three deades. Most of his one-man shows were sell-outs. Between 1973 and 1980 he exhibited at one-man and numerous mixed shows including in the Stockport Art Gallery and Rivington Great House. He continues to exhibit with Clark Art in Hale.
